In today's ever-changing society, the question "Why examine values?" must be asked. Advances in communication and technology have unalterably changed the way we live. We are all bombarded with new information and confusing messages.

For many teens, this complexity is compounded by the high incidence of divorce, single- or working-parent homes, step-families, and the increase of violence. Adults in guardian positions, such as parents and teachers, must find ways to help youth cope with today's complex society. A course in values can make a difference.

These resources include thought-provoking, creative student activities; in-depth, classroom-tested lessons; concise teacher notes; and reproducible handouts. Lessons can be used as part of a values education course, guidance program, community teen organization, or intervention program.
